Goryeo University Ansan Hospital

Goryeo University Ansan Hospital was established in 1985 in a region that was medically underserved and densely populated with industrial complexes in Ansan, Gyeonggi Province, with the goal of practicing the spirit of nationalism and philanthropy by opening a 100-bed hospital. As the western part of Gyeonggi Province developed, the hospital continued to grow and innovate, and in 2012, it was selected as a superior comprehensive hospital, joining the ranks of the top hospitals in the country. Currently, it is the only superior comprehensive hospital in the region, with 836 beds and over 2,500 faculty members, and has established itself as a core medical institution specializing in severe, rare, and intractable diseases.

In addition, in order to provide more advanced medical services, the hospital has established disease-specific centers and clinics, and continues to pursue education and various research and development activities for talent cultivation. Notably, through the continuous introduction of advanced medical equipment, the hospital has strengthened its capabilities in treating severe diseases, including the introduction of the latest radiation cancer treatment machine, TrueBeam STx, and the robotic surgery machine, Da Vinci Xi, in 2021. The hospital was also designated as the first single-site robotic surgery machine, Da Vinci SP, in Gyeonggi Province in 2021, leading the field of robotic surgery in the region. Since 2023, the hospital has been designated as the final treatment institution for severe emergency patients in the southwestern region of Gyeonggi Province, demonstrating its high-level medical capabilities.

In 2022, the construction of the short-term master plan for Goryeo University Ansan Hospital began, which was planned in three stages. The hospital is currently undergoing a large-scale expansion and remodeling to establish a patient-centered smart medical environment and expand research spaces. In addition, the long-term master plan, which is currently being planned, includes the expansion of the new building and new wing, as well as the establishment of a specialized center for severe diseases and a cancer hospital, and the diversification of severe cancer clinics, with the goal of becoming a world-class medical institution that provides customized, high-precision medical services tailored to individual patients.
